Overview

Name | Version: XLFO -- SubtleSonic tweak 1.0
Author: PeterMcCulloch
Device Type: Audio Effect
Description: This device is an extension of the LFO device that comes with Live. It adds lots of new features and provides some useful tweaks to existing ones.

It's pay what you want with no minimum, though you need to provide an email address. If you are unwilling to provide a real working email, please check out some of the other nice LFO devices on maxforlive.com.

Additions
- Morph control: provides a unique transformation for each waveshape.
- Morph lock: only change the morph value at the beginning of the wave's cycle.
- Weight control: use an exponent to skew the shape up or down
- Takeover mode: temporarily bypass the LFO and control the value directly
- Oneshot mode: LFO retriggers with manual trigger (near phase) and with the reset clock (if enabled)
- Reset: automatically reset the LFO to the value specified by the phase control -- works in Freq or Sync mode
- Fade: when using Hold or Takeover, the control will transition over a period specied in ms of beats (depending on Freq/Sync mode)
- Qnt: Quantize the output in 16th note units. (0=off, 0.5=32nd)

Changes
- Separate controls for smooth up/down (linkable)
- Phase's range is scaled by the PhaseMultiplier control, so you can set its range from 10 to 720 degrees, which can be cool for wrap-around phasing.
- Inversion control is now visible
- Adjust the depth of the mapped control via number boxes (so you can use the depth and offset independently) -- present in the original, but not visible
- Uses downsampling to produce similar CPU usage as the original, but with added features.

this thing is awesome, really really great. the takeover mode is a nice touch and almost an effect in itself combined with the fade time (especially with fade time at 16!). getting some nice staircases with link on, and the extra reset choices. i might even have to switch from using my own lfo now :)
Glad to hear it. Thinking about separating the takeover transition vs. takeover interpolation values. Just need to find real estate for that...
Excellent, Peter. Just excellent. This is true automation, if you ask me. The only issue I've run into so far is that sometimes the black LFO signal windows -disappear- (go completely black) when popping up and down other GUI from VSTs. I haven't got to test it as extensively as I intend to yet. Perhaps during the wknd. Thanks for this makeover! Cheers
great device, works very well!
I hope you will be updating this plugin if necessary, it has become an indispensable tool to me by now. Great work!
Nice one Peter ! This one saved me a headache as to why the standard MFL LFO doesn't work as intended. The thoughtful add-ons really add something to the tool !
@PeterMcCulloch the download link is dead. Please fix or I will have to delete this entry in the site.
Yes please fix link. I've only just discovered this and can't download it :(

Unless someone else could re-upload it...
It's back!
Great device. Love the one shot mode!
re up?
another 'shot'?
By far the best lfo I could find. Even now in 2018. I would love to see dotted intervals with the rate knob. Also A grid sequencer device would be epic!
