Description: | I made this device because I couldn't find any easy way to do scalar transposition (aka diatonic transposition) in Live. If someone knows of an existing patch or a much easier way that I missed, then please let me know in the comments. This is my first Max device, so if anyone has feedback on how I can write a more efficient device, please don't hesitate to school me in the comments. It's pretty clunky but I think it's working. If you want to do scalar transposition (moving all the notes up or down some number of scale degrees) then you need to specify the scale the notes will be from. Each dial setting corresponds to a major scale and the relative minor scale. Only major or minor scales are currently available but adding more scales wouldn't be difficult. If you want to do scalar transposition of more than +/-6 scale degrees, combine with the Pitch effect (or Transpoze set to chromatic mode) to add or subtract an octave. Version 1.1: Corrected a glaring spelling error on the device. |
