Overview

Name | Version: Enable Link 1.0
Author: stoolbreaker
Device Type: MIDI Effect
Description: /!\ MAC ONLY /!\

Goal:
Allows to enable the Ableton Live Link button automatically thanks to the mouse. My use case: link several Live instances automatically when loading a new live set.

Installation:
- Download the whole zip file.
- In Max (if you already have a Max license) or in Max Runtime (if you do not have a Max license), launch “Enable_Link_Standalone.maxpat”.
- In Ableton Live, create a midi track and load “Enable_Link_Trigger.amxd” (see Enable Link Example Project).

How it works:
- The MIDI device “Enable_Link_Trigger.amxd” sends a bang via the OSC protocol (automatically or when triggered according to the state of the Auto button). The “Enable_Link_Standalone.maxpat” device receives this bang and launches a java code to move the mouse and click on the Link button.
- I tried to integrate the Java code directly in the MIDI device but Live was crashing. However, this way, if you do not want to activate automatically the Link button, you just have not to launch “Enable_Link_Standalone.maxpat”.

This can now be done with the Live API, so it can be cross-platform I believe.
