Overview

Name | Version: niceRack 4
Author: barstu
Device Type: MIDI Effect
Description: niceRack will auto latch itself to an instrument rack it finds in it's own channel. First of all the patch selector will map to the 1st macro of its's latched to Instrument Rack (IR). So you can map a midi nob to this and also buttons to the up/down controls to tap through your chains. I have used 2 buttons green and yellow to provide support for different button midi types. Once you select a new chain the 8 nobs will auto map to the 8 nobs of the 1st IR found in that chain. The mapping is 2 way so you can still use the slaved IRs as normal. The names of the chain and it's 1st IR's parameters should all update in the presentation. In the config screen you can set CC values to control the patch selector and then the 8 parameters, the CC value you have set for each parameter is then displayed next to the nob. You can also choose whether to pass these on or not. I use this feature to control the rack from another midi channel. If editing the patch or changing the insert strip ordering I sometimes find I need to hit the relink button. Each chain can store the values of it's 8 parameters, and you can recall the saved values using the midi mappable reset button.

Issues:
I'm still finding issues with this thing. I use a few of them in my set and I think this is causing me problems, especially with the saving and recalling of the parameter settings, sometimes it just doesn't recall the right parameters, I think its maybe recalling a dataset from another instance, if anyone can shed some light on this I'd be most greatful.

Because there is 2 way mapping the nobs can sometimes go a bit crazy, I think it is because of a feedback loop. I've put some code in there to negate this so it eventually stops.

-------
I have a companion device that blue hands the selected IR and then locks it
