Overview

Name | Version: Akai-ify Digital Saturation Filter 1.0
Author: PeggysMom
Device Type: Audio Effect
Description: Basically downsamples and adds a few filters to kind of sound like an older sampler... mostly based on memory from my MPC2000. Although the MPC purports to be full CD quality, there's gotta be a lot of strange upsampling and downsampling going on in those old things and although it's beyond me, I figure some quality loss and a few filters does something to get in the right direction.

Planning on adding more parameters and doing real testing with my MPC when I have time.

UI is not loading on m1 mac. its just the max cables and knobs. it still sort of works tho. kinda feel like its not really doing what its supposed to tho.
shinytheshiny - oops i must have forgot a couple of loadmessages and messed up wrapping the UI … i’ll fix when i get home here and reupload
okay now hopefully it works
works great! thanks for the quick fix. sounds awesome on some old breaks
Sounds decent. A flaw in it is that if you move the parameters from the display, the knobs dont move with them. An actual frequency amount, ex. 7khz would be nice vs an arbitrary value as is.
Thanks for pointing that out. If you have spent time with these old machines you will notice the values are often arbitrary. IIRC the mpc2000 filter shows values between 0 and 100 so that's what I was going for. I also had not anticipated controlling the device with the numbers, they're really just there to make it look more like an MPC. Perhaps I should just have them as a message box rather than int box.
can your add option to play like 45 rotation per minute on vinyl thanks
Dude - that thing rocks !!
Man, this is such a killer device, I put on everything, hot diggity damn!!
Keep it up.
Kudos for putting this together, very much appreciated! Would love to pick your brain sometime regarding the implementation of the dsp. Hope to see further development of this tool!!!!
This is awesome! I pretty much throw it on everything. any way you could map the parameters to the Push? it would make messing with it a little easier when I'm just on the hardware.
i expected a typical bitcrusher/compressor type thing, but this is much more subtle and nuanced than i expected. sounds super accurate to the old Akais and works wonders on smudging up drum breaks. makes me miss my old MPC-2000!
